Fence and Deck Restoration
See The Difference Professional Prep Makes
Professional prep is the difference between stain that simply looks good on day one and stain that actually lasts. Every project begins with a full cleaning and brightening process to open the wood grain, remove surface contaminants, and restore the natural color of the boards. This is what allows the stain to absorb evenly and perform the way it’s designed to. The photos below show the results you can expect when the prep work is done correctly and the wood is brought back to a clean, neutral starting point.

Prep Stage: Cleaning
Our cleaning system doesn’t rely on high pressure; we use a soft‑wash process with eco‑friendly chemicals to remove gray weathering, mildew, and buildup. This reveals the natural wood and prepares the surface for an even, long‑lasting stain application.
Full Deck Restoration-Meridian Hills
This project shows a full professional wood restoration completed by East Central Staining Co. in the Meridian Hills area of Indianapolis. The four‑image composite documents the complete restoration sequence: the top‑left image shows the deck in its original weathered gray condition; the top‑right image shows the cleaner foaming as it lifts embedded dirt and organic buildup; the bottom‑left image shows the deck fully cleaned and prepped; and the bottom‑right image shows the finished result after staining with a semi‑solid oil‑based stain in the color Palomino. Together, these images demonstrate the dramatic improvement in color uniformity, grain definition, and overall appearance achieved through proper prep, controlled cleaning, and premium product selection.
